Vetefjellet 527 m asl

On the way up towards Storlitinden, to the right of the peak. A good alternative when the wind veers from south towards east, with good options for top landing.

Before you launch

Wave wind The site is exposed to wind, and in wave conditions the wind comes down here. Avoid flying in wave conditions.
Strong wind at the landing The wind often picks up over Kvæfjordeidet. With strong wind aloft, the landing can cause penetration problems and turbulence.

Launch

The main direction is south, as on Storlitinden.

  • SSE Used especially when the wind veers from south towards east and Storlitinden becomes too easterly.
  • E Possible, but see easterly wind and sink on the Storlitinden side.

Landing

Same landings as Storlitinden: at the Red Cross cabin on Kvæfjordeidet, or at the foot of the mountain. Good options for top landing.

Always check the landing before you fly. If you land in a field, it must be agreed with the farmer, and the grass must not be tall.
