The original site in the Harstad region, with flying since 1976. A small ridge north of the town that can be smooth as velvet, and turbulent in westerly wind.

Before you launch

Westerly wind Can become very turbulent. Learn the signs, and be careful when the wind is westerly.

Do not land below the launch The farmer below the launch does not like us landing on the field. Respect that, and use the landing marked on the map.

Requires wind in The launch is steep, short and uneven, and requires wind in. Only used in ridge soaring conditions. If the wing does not come up nicely, you end up in the bushes.

Launch

Launch right by the road at the top. Steep, short and not very even, so it requires wind in and is only used in ridge soaring conditions. Hence PP3.

Landing

The landing is a bit messy. Do not land on the farmer's fields below the launch.

Always check the landing before you fly. If you land in a field, it must be agreed with the farmer, and the grass must not be tall.
