Launch

Large and fairly gentle launch area. The top landing is like a football pitch.

  • SSW Over 4 m/s from the south gives good ridge lift over a large area. Rarely turbulent, either up top or at the landing.
  • SE If the wind is too easterly, there is a good ridge further north towards Koven, about 15 min walk.
  • W The west launch gives the best thermals, from about 13:00 onwards.

Landing

Mainly on the bog right by the parking. PP2 and newly qualified pilots often use the landing below the launch.

Always check the landing before you fly. If you land in a field, it must be agreed with the farmer, and the grass must not be tall.
