Blåhatten 475 m asl

One of the classic sites, with one of the best ridges in southerly wind. The top is like a lawn, great both for launching and top landing.

Before you launch

Evenes CTR The approach to the landing enters Evenes CTR, even if you fly low and at its edge. Call the tower at Evenes and get clearance before you fly. The phone number is under «Phone numbers for the towers» in Airspace.
Over 5 m/s The site is slightly in the lee of Sørvikfjellet and can get turbulent.
Landowners Be careful about driving up the road to Slettlia.

Launch

The launch is perfect, lawn everywhere.

  • SSE Ridge soaring in the right conditions. You can soar in very light wind, preferably S–SE.

Landing

The main landing is right by the parking. Alternatively at Slettlia, but it can give turbulence in wind. Several bogs have also been used, including the large bog by Kilkamhuset, where large power lines mark the edge. Check them first because of high-voltage lines and cables in the air.

Always check the landing before you fly. If you land in a field, it must be agreed with the farmer, and the grass must not be tall.
